As you know, the majority of infections <i>do</i> come about through unprotected sexual relations. Thanks for your comment. I recognize it's a complex issue and it wasn't my intention to come across as simplistic. I apologise if I did. As you know, the majority of infections do come about through unprotected sexual relations. But, for the record, I entirely agree that it's not just about condoms and that there are many routes to becoming HIV positive.

Now, having said that, I do agree with what you say. Although choice does come into play at some point, it's not through choice that people first start to experience same-sex attraction (or opposite-sex attraction, for that matter), and dealing with it can be very difficult indeed. Just for clarity for anyone else who may be reading, the point I was making wasn't about "being gay", but more specifically about unprotected sex (heterosexual or homosexual), which is either practised by people who are ignorant of the risks, or is practised as a "deliberate lifestyle choice". Now, having said that, I do agree with what you say. Although choice does come into play at some point, it's not through choice that people first start to experience same-sex attraction (or opposite-sex attraction, for that matter), and dealing with it can be very difficult indeed.
